Pastures, I bought it for £3600 noy £450 - not sure if you understood that or not from your post.

I have heeded your advice, and I am thankful for those who have replied. I know there's little to no chance of getting my money back and I'm all but giving up anyway. Still, I have booked in to see my solicitor next week so may as well see what they say.:money:

I also paid via an escrow service and my credit card company is telling me they cannot refund such purchaes as I gave my permission that everything was dandy before paying the seller.

your credit card company is wrong.......if the goods were not as described the card issuer is [iirc] 'jointly and severally liable'...so ask them for your money back and if that fails take them to court & Financial Ombudsman Service.
