Anyone investing in wine?

I'm thinking about investing a few grand in some bordeaux wine, stored in a bonded warehouse. Does anyone here have investments in wine? What kind of returns are you making, or are you projecting to make? Do you have any good advice to offer? I'm looking for a reputable wine merchant that has a good track record of making his clients money. Thanks.

The art was like (but not as good) as the stuff I did for CSE in 1977.
    Just different materials.
    I got a grade 3.
    But mine was better.

Is that to keep them safely out of reach of those poor down and outs with a more discerning palate ;)

I did watch a wine merchant on TV recently who basically said money can be made but strictly advised such investment to be limited to 10% of your portfolio. Apparently there's alot of hidden expense like paying experts to officially uncork, taste it, rate it then recork it (nice work if you can get it!)

Far to complicated for me. I'll stick to a crisp dry Chardonnay with a slight elder flower bouquet. (3 for a tenner at Nettos) :D

Is that a joke to suggest that you would have drunk it all?

Yes, I watched that program earlier, which got me thinking. This was useful reading.

The costs are too high. Don't bother. Buy to drink.

If you want an investment, try coins or paper money.

I came and searched the forum after watching just the end of that show (The rest was dull) and decided it's not for me.
Maybe if I'm ever super rich i'll do it as a hobby.
