Anyone on here been offered money to sell their YouTube account? I'm wondering if it's a scam or not.

  • Unless you have a lot of content, I can't see why anyone would want to buy something that they can get for free unless it was for illegitimate purposes
  • There's an iphone video on it with over 2 million views.

its got to be a scam. you can start your own account for free so why buy someone elses? also if you like something in someones account it is very easy to download it or failing that ask them to send it via email. they may well be hoping to get access to personal details in your account. anyway they would probably want to pay you into your bank account and they would get your bank details that way.
so tell them to get lost and if they are already a user report them. or even report them to the police.
  • I suspect this is another "Facebook" type scam.

They will never pay and then post offensive videos using your username.

    Ignore it.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
  • Turned out this was a genuine offer. He wanted the iphone video to link to his website. Gave me $150 up front then another $150 after I'd sent the username and password. Couldn't believe it.

Hello, I am interested in the money in you bank, Could you send me your online bank details - username, passwords, pins etc. I will send you 10 shiny pennies initially and then 10 even shinier pennies when you have sent me the login details.

Seriously, why did you send your login details? Why didn't you just send the person the video?

The video is useless without two million views. It's on the first page of search results when you search for "iphone" on youtube. See?

    :D Fair Point.

I still would not like to give people my user name and password though. I wonder how this guy is going to make his $300 back from your video though? Will it be through click throughs from other sites or something?

I googled his username before selling and it led to a few video marketing sites so he must know what he's doing.
  • got me interested now, which video is yours? linkie please
