Semolina - where can I buy it?

I have been trying to buy some semolina (not the tinned stuff) for weeks now without success. I have tried both large and small Tesco, 2 Asda stores, Morrisons, and 2 Sainsburys stores without any luck.
Does anyone know where else I might be able to try to get a pack? When I have asked in the above stores, I have been told there is no demand for this any more!

Have you got a Somerfield close by - I'm sure that I got my last packet here.
Failing that, what about a health food shop, it might have some? What are you planning on using it for? Could you use a substitute like ground rice?0 -

Just found that on google, sorry don't know how to do clever links!
I have fond memories of semolina pudding with sultanas in and sweetend with brown sugar.
Is ground rice similar enough ? might be easier to find?
I used to like tapioca pudding as well ......frogspawn!

I have a very small Somerfield but will give them a try. Rang a couple of health food shops but they suggested trying a supermarket.
I have found an old recipe for shortbread that I used to make many many years ago and I always used a small amount of semolina so not really sure if I could substitute ground rice?0 -
Ms Scrooge - have just e mailed Whitworths to ask about their suppliers. I don't tend to shop online as I live so close to most of the big supermarkets.
I have never used ground rice - does any one know if I could substitute it in shortbread?0 -

That product is semolina flour, I use it when I make pasta using two thirds 00 flour and 1 third semolina flour with the eggs. Isn't semolina pudding made from the use of a rice type product?
Could be way off on that as I've never made it from scratch. I got my semolina flour from a local Asian deli type of shop no problem.0 -
I have used ground rice in shortbread. It seems more or less the same to me.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Delia's old recipe uses semolina too and I've always bought it in Sainsbury's.
However, it's not essential to use Semolina or anything else - the semolina just creates a bit of crunch to the biscuit. You can ignore the semolina and just use flour, sugar & butter. There's a simple recipe on the BBC website
Or .... try Sainsbury for semolinaWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
