Saga Fixed Term

Anyone else in this position?
Last week I applied for a Saga 6 months f/t savings account on line. Did'nt get my application processed as at the end of the procedure got a msg saying the a/c was no longer valid. Today I received an application form in the post for this account.
Quandry, do I proceed with the postal application? I do have the funding to hand and it will take me a few days to get it together. I do not want to pull money out of other accounts only to be told that the account is no longer available and then have to put it all back where it came from. I do have a Top 5 Tracker with Saga and ideally would like to have moved this to the f'/t deposit but this possibility is not mentioned in the letter I received today.

The following 'Compare Products' site is slap bang up to date and I'd suggest you use it to make your decisions:
http://www.fsa.gov.uk/tables/bespoke/SavingsAccount
It belongs to the FSA, is updated daily, and all the component products belong to financial institutions who are FSA members and thus are FSA Registered to provide FSCS compensation.
The latest SAGA fixed term account should be on it and the rate that goes with it.0 -
you can open this account with the minimum amount of a pound if you wish.
you can then transfer money into it once the account is up and running this can be done with bacs transfer.
once the account is opened you can only transfer money into it up to the 30th november 08 after this date monies will be returned to you.
i posted my cheque in their prepaid envelope on a monday and the cheque was cleared in my bank on the friday of that week so be quick and post your application asap.
after your initial cheque has cleared telephone either 08000153257 or 01902302914 quote your account number and they will give you the information you need to make your bacs transfer.
