What's the best way to spend in Australia

Hi there

I am going to Oz for a 4 week holiday, travelling around a few different states.
I dont really want to carry cash with me everywhere.
I have the option to transfer some cash into two different friends bank australian bank accounts to use in those two states, leaving me with just cash to carry around for the other states.

But are there any other options ie pre paid card (is this available for Aus$) or using my current HSBC debit card over there?

Any help would be great.
thanks

  • We used our normal debit cards to get cash out of ATMs when we were in Oz. You could get a Nationwide flex account debit card and it doesn't charge you to withdraw money.
