MSN Messenger

Can anyone please advise. My friend's son has been using my pc over Xmas. Now every time I switch on I get MSN log in page. Two things;
1) Is this a useful programme? I've never used it.
2) If not how do I stop the log in screen from Appearing.
Thanks

    To stop this appearing at startup.

    Click>Start>Run........type in msconfig (click OK) look at the top for the startup tab (click this). Scroll down till you see MSN messenger. Untick this, click apply then OK. Restart the computer, and it shouldn't appear.

    It is a private messagin program - it is very useful but only if you know someone else with it. You can basically just send them messages with it and have conversations - like emails, only quicker.

    Intel's solution is what you need :)
