techwood 26" digital lcd tv £229 @ Morrisons

Bought this on special offer from Morrisons. Great picture and apparently great value, but for the fact that I cannot tune in ITV/Ch4, or Ch5 and some others.
Thought it was an aerial problem, but after spending £25 call out charge with a technician he is adamant it is an inherant problem with this as well as Techwood TV (and other) not being able to pick up "multiplex 29" from the local transmitter.
Morrison's advised me to contact Neon helpline who basically stonewalled me with "it is a signal problem", this is despite haveing 2 other tv's in the house receiving all channels without a problem via Freeview.
Also, the DVD doesn't play home recorder DVD's, only bought pre-recorded one's
Anyone help ?0
