I ordered a copy of my Equifax credit file last night... :eek:
Not a pretty sight
However, there was an account on there for a company called Melgold t/a The Country Garden. I've never heard of them and would never, to be blunt, be caught dead ordering from anything like that, so naturally I began to panic, as I've had card fraud on my account in the past.
I googled it - but nothing. So I went on Companies House to do a little digging, and I discovered they are registered at the same address as the JD Williams group, who I do have *cough* several accounts with
I spoke to general customer services, who were lovely, and gave me the number for account investigations. They were also very efficient, and within about 2 minutes had established what had happened, and said if I sent over a copy of my credit file it would be adjusted and all information relating to this account would be removed.
I've always had really good service from my catalogues with them, so Im really happy that I've had the same service this time - well done JDW!
