Does anyone on here understand what the word average means? Really, it is not that hard:confused:

We even have a claimed barrister agreeing with 70% claims:rolleyes:

Property in Scotland is not even in the negatives yet or is everyone failing to ignore this FACT?? For everywhere to fall 70%, a hell of a lot of places will need to fall by substantially more than that.

Seriously it beggars belief that some people are so deluded.

Dopester..You harp on about unemployment, did you not analyse the stats on yesterdays release? 0.25% of the countries population are currently suffering with recent unemployment. Yes 0.25% of the 60m population:rotfl:

The link in the 1st post mentions nothing of a 70% fall like macaque is claiming. 70% drops and 70% drop from peak to trough. 2 totally different theories;) A lot of nonsense anyway in my books.

The stats in my signature below let me sleep at night as does Scotlands strong resilience;)

70% nationwide, time to wake up i think:rotfl:

If you are being serious, what areas will fall by 90% in order to combat those that fall by 50%?

Preaching to the converted here mate  anyway she is a barrister not an accountant.

The majority of that 60m population are unemployable - either retired or still children. It'll be somewhat more than 0.25% of the employable population.

    I can do averages too.

As unemployment rises, house prices will continue to fall regardless of interest rates. It's basic stuff really.

You and stevie may try to deny that fact but the fact that you do so illustratres how clueless you are

Can only agree with GG. It`s sad. The social cost of housing rocketing and the social cost of them tanking. I`m in the 50% club.

    GG

    Majority?

    60m population
    29.4m in work
    1.8m unemployed

    Leaving 29m people

Of only around 60% are in the 0-16 and 65+ age ranges. The rest are unemployed yes (Housewifes, footballers wifes etc that do not claim unemployment benefit) and the rest made up of the countries sick and disabled list.

But even if we take the 29m figure, it still only accounts for 0.52% of the population 155,000/29,400,000

Anyway, the issue is not about unemployment, its about ludicrous 70% across the board claims.

I have no idea how far they will fall....at first I thought 20% but that figure is not that far away now, so who knows.

All I know is that I find it all very scary......and I don't even own or want to own a house!

*Unless I won the lottery and could buy outright and if that happened, i wouldn't give two hoots how much the property value of my home is going up or down.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Population of Scotland - about 5m
Population of UK - about 60m
% of Scotland resiting the trend - 10%!?...about 500,000 people (resisting the temptation to say that a lot of the areas bucking the trend are rural).

That means if you proprtion it up, the so called resillient areas of Scotland are about 1/120th of the UK as a whole. That isn't going to make much of a dent in the total average.

As do i, i am sure she is very intelligent, i just dont agree with her housing market crash theories and her continual support of what i would call rubbish claims.

But then we are all entitled to our opinions and hers ''may'' prove to be correct and i may be the 1 looking like a fool when property is bought on credit cards in 5yrs time.

As a barrister, she will be buying London boroughs by the end of this.

NDG..Before you choke on your morning cornflakes read the part in bold ;)
