Something I've just done.
Set up internerd explorer to prompt for cookies.
eg: tools, options, privacy, advanced, prompt for cookies.
Now every time a site wants to save a cookie you can agree or disagree. Useful I think.

You'll get sick of the popups after a while - there's so many cookies!
It'll be worse than advert popups LOL :P

If you are searching through pages through google, visiting hundreds of different domains a day, each wanting a cookie, you'll be ANNOYED!0 -
Cookies aren't horrifically insecure anyway, it just depends how paranoid you are about people knowing where you have been!0
