Hi all,
I am looking to get PC Pro for MrEL and so far the best deal I can find is:
3 issues for £1, then £19.99 every 6 months:
http://www.pcpro.co.uk/html/subscriptions/index.html
They are also offering a pc tools kit for free and I know he would find that useful.
So assuming 15 issues for £40, minus the value of say £15 for the free gift, that works out at around £25 for the magazines.
Can anyone suggest a better deal? I am a member of various cashback sites as well but as I have never subscribed to any magazines just want to check there isn't a better deal before I go ahead

I got that tool kit last year but different colour and i wouldnt say its value is £15, ive bought a similar product from aldi except the 1 from aldi didnt have the 2 pliers but a small wrench type item which cost me £3 at the time and its better quality than the 1 i got from subscribing to pc world, you also get a free dvd with software on it0

It's my preferred magazine too, as it definitely has a more professional set of content. I work in the industry and find it accurate.
If you are a Tesco customer and have clubcard points, you can get it very cheaply using Tesco Deals.0 -
I like it too!
I also was lucky enough to win lots of solwise networking gear, apparently £273 worth, by filling in the 2008 survey. just awaiting delivery
watch on ebay for solwise bargains soon (though if the package includes the wireless camera I may keep that)

PC Pro is produced in two 'editions': one has an added DVD with lots and lots of mostly useless software on it, the other has a CD with merely some useless software on it. The printed magazine is identical bar the part of the front cover which says that you have the DVD edition or the CD edition. The CD edition is somewhat cheaper.
No, they don't do an even cheaper edition with neither a DVD nor a CD. Pity...0 -
Toolkit? !!!!!!? You need only two tools...philips screwdriver and snipe nose pliers.0

Thanks so much John Gray that takes a little off, most appreciated!
Conor - thanks for your 'feedback' - and no I don't think he will want the toolkit necessarily, but PCPro are including it as part of the package and free is free - he may use a few of the pieces. As it stands, John Gray's suggestion is better so I will prob get MrEL that version.MFW #185
