Flights to Memphis

Morning All

Just a quickie if anyone knows off any cheap ways to fly to memphis.

We are hoping to go out on the 16/12/08 and return on 08/01/09 flying from Edinburgh or Glasgow for 1 adult and 3 children. Aged 9/7/5 if that make a difference.

I have look at KLM and their prices are about £420-£450 per person from Edinburgh but the flight times aren't all that good(7 hour stopover on way home etc)and was wondering if anyone else would fly to Memphis and maybe offer a discout for children.

Hope someone can help and thanks in advance.

Fly to Atlanta and drive, or train, or internal flight. Maybe cheaper?

Certainly better since Memphis is a dive.

    It was in part serious.

Look at flying to ATL and getting an internal. Maybe cheaper.
  • Well if you flew to Atlanta, then you can get £411 on Air France via Paris on your dates from Edinburgh. It would then be a drive to Memphis, but it may be worth it if the cash saving outweighs the inconvenience.

It also looks like the KLM fares for those dates have gone up to nearer £480, although it may just be a case of fluctuating flight prices during the day.

Its actually a nice drive and even calling into Birmingham for an hour or two you can do it in a day.

Interesting to know. I've done Atlanta down to Florida and Atlanta east to Savannah and Charleston, but never the Memphis journey. Worth considering for a future holiday though!

It really is - I love history, particularly the Black movement and civil rights in the USA. So Atlanta to Memphis is perfect for that, of course you can vary it and perhaps take in other parts of Alabama, but if you do it, i strongly suggest you find time for Lynchburg TN - Jack Daniels Distillery - one of the most memorable days i have had.
