I used to work in finance, split between Royal Bank of Scotland and an asset management company so have some knowledge of how the systems work. Of course many things change so my knowledge could be out of date in some areas.

The only saving grace is that I'll only lose interest for a few days on the initial BACS transfer, as when I return the funds back to Egg they'll appear in the account immediately and start earning interest instantly
