I see, thanks for explanation. Stating the obvious most people, seem far more savvy about these financial workings, than me. So much to learn.

I used to work in finance, split between Royal Bank of Scotland and an asset management company so have some knowledge of how the systems work. Of course many things change so my knowledge could be out of date in some areas.

OK Susie your first test Cheadle or Toxteth:-
    1) Do you frequent wine bars or pubs? bonus: do you know what a pub is?
    2) Do you know how to pick a lock?
    3) Does your house price stay constant when all around you fall?
    4) Do you watch Countdown every day?
    5) x-Factor or Strictly or both?

My partner will be out driving tonight as his daughter is going to some disco thing. Which means I'll be definitely joining you at 5.00 for a small(ish) libation. That's providing I get back from the vets in time (the dog's got a boil on his rear end!! Says it all really)

PS. Does anyone want a photo of my partner's car - it's more upmarket than mine, it's a Vectra :rotfl:

No, but a picture of your dog's boil might be cool :rotfl:

I see. You could delay the Egg transfer and pay £25 for a same day CHAPS payement, if necessary.

I'm too tight to do that ;)

The only saving grace is that I'll only lose interest for a few days on the initial BACS transfer, as when I return the funds back to Egg they'll appear in the account immediately and start earning interest instantly :D

...ahh very good, preliminary interrogation passed.

Actually I only made an educated guess about Cheshire house prices, but was correct!
