Thanks everyone for keeping me (fairly) sane whilst waiting for the 1st email which didn't come because I was on Talktalk and now waiting for the second. But now the time has come to leave you because I have received the coverted 2nd email today.

    Hope your's come soon.

Been out all day. Just got in and caught up. Congrats to amistupid (on 2nd e-mail and other things), altocumulus, nomad 25, Nagiw and anyone else I may have missed.

BUT - why so few? You're not going mad, nilrem, the way you're reacting is the only sane response to this situation. Know it doesn't help but am still keeping vigil, as is janlaine and others, I'm sure.

Thanks Rachel, it really helps to know we haven't been deserted by those who got lucky before us :A

..."too" cos I got the sex of someone else wrong ! [they saidf they'd have to "check their bits" to be sure...now who was it?]

Twas me, and I can confirm, having checked my bits, that I'm definitely female, or was the last time I looked. But life is a little confusing at the moment so who knows what's round the corner..... an email from FSCS?!!!! Now don't be daft!!

You think we shall have our emails by then?

Probably not! As I wrote earlier I will probably send off forms and cheque in the hope that they won't bank the cheque until the following monday and that won't clear until wednesday, by which time we'll be reunited with our dosh!
  • I did that the other day! I had a fantasy shopping spree and almost spent my entire Icesave savings :rotfl:

I'm doing that a lot!:rotfl: Holidays, clothes shopping, Christmas! I keep hitting the back button at the last minute! It's fun at the time, but then reality sets in:(

Leave posting your forms/cheque until next Wednesday at the latest unless of course you get your email before then ;)

They only need to receive the application by 28th, not have it processed by then. The guy I spoke to earlier said they were anticipating a last minute rush of applications so said it might take a couple of days to process but that we would start to receive interest on the day the cheque is banked :T

I have a funny feeling that someone at the FSCS has a heart or guilty conscience.

There seems to have been a disproportionate number of 2nd emails received by people who had all sorts of problems getting the first one and who got it very late.

Don't hit that button. The more you spend the less severe wil be the recession and the less chance of the "independent" Bank of England reducing base rate further :j .
