Help am bleached!

Options
Hi every body and Merry Xmas! :xmastree:

I was cleaning the bathroom today and while playing with the bleach I managed to bleach a small patch on the left boob area of my top! Why I was wearing a good top to clean the bathroom I don't know!

Can anyone recommend some sort of washing machine dye I can use to rectify this. As well as some kind of company who can install a plonka warning stystem for me in future.

Thank you.

The top is brown and a think cotton t-shirt like weave.

Dealing with bleach stains is a difficult one. The best people for advice on dyes etc that might help hide them is dylon...

I'm always accidentally bleaching my clothes, you can dye over it, but only black, no other colour seems to cover properly.

I have lots of black clothes :xmassmile :snow_laug

    Oh well... thanks guys....

At least I have worn it loads and enjoyed it! The only other tip I have come across is to find a permanent marker which matches... since it is now ruined anyway might as well try it out :( .....

Boo hoo! But thanks for your tips and help, really appreciate it, wil go and eat some mince pies ( which I made... kind of)! And figure out what to do for tea. Thank you

if permanent marker doesn't work, have look around haberdashery stall at a market for suitable embroidery motif to iron on to cover the bleached but.
or even cannibalise a bit from a chairty shop garment, that could look like an embelishment rather than a cover up.

  • I don't know if this will appeal but you could actually add more bleach to make a decorative pattern. If you dip a matchstick or similar in the bleach you can draw with it on the fabric.Perhaps you could make the blob into something,a butterfly for instance.

I must admit I've never tried this but I've often thought about it as a way of salvaging my bleach-blobbed clothes.HTH :rudolf:

You could always stick a load of elastic bands round it and put it in a bowl of bleach. Same top but a different pattern!!!

I,ve used Dylon on navy combats with bleach splashes on them and they dyed perfectly well. I think it may depend on your material - cotton takes dye best. Remember if you go for a colour different to the original one the seams (polyester) don't usually take the dye!!
  • Could you tie dye it all over? It might hide it. Good luck
