FF2.0.0.5
I use a site that has a feature of a bookmark designed for firefox, you right click on a link and select "bookmark this link" then you store it in the "Bookmark toolbar folder" Then it is supposed to apear on the bookmark toolbar as a button.
I definately have show "bookmark toolbar" ticked and it does show but it is empty, even though in the bookmark toolbar folder this bookmark has been stored. In order for me to use the bookmark as it is intended I have to go into the bookmark menu and goto the toolbar folder and left click on the link - then it will work.
Why isn't it showing on the toolbar?
Previously I had done this and the button did appear as it should, but I haven't had the toolbar showing for many months. Perhaps there is some weird option I have inadvertantly switched off to not show buttons on the bookmark toolbar or something
I use FF2 because I have Win 98, and I tried upgrading to FF2.0.16 but it wouldn't do it for me (I can't remember why, I just remember I couldn't get it to upgrade).
I can't be bovvered to upgrade to Win XP/FF3 because it will be a heck of a lot of work, and something I'm not going to do until I have a new computer, working side by side with this one.

You tried right clicking on the tab then going to bookmark tab,0
-
Try -
Go to Bookmarks menu and Select Organise Bookmarks
Highlight "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder" on the left
Click on Edit from the top menu and see if you can select "Set as Bookmarks Toolbar Folder"
If that option is grayed out then it's already set as the folder.
Next try -
Right-click the menus at the top and select "Customise"
Here you can see that my personal preference is to keep the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" on the second bar rather than in the section they're supposed to be.
See if yours has moved around or is in the Customise box and then you can drag them back to the Bookmarks Toobar0 -

However also the google search window has reappeared on the navigation bar. I remember I tried to delete that and that must have been what I did before which lost me the BMTbar buttons. I don't know what I did. How do I remove the google search window without affecting anything else?
Also where does the google search window come from? Is it part of FF or has it been spam installed by google somehow?
I noticed you have your URL address bar in the top bar, I tried to drag mine there, but couldn't. How do I do that?
EDIT: OK now, I dragged the google thing into the customise box, and it did not affect the bookmark button. Then I dragged the URL address into the customise box, then dragged it back to the top bar, and it stayed there. So all is fine now. And I have also moved the bookmark buttons onto the second bar like you have, and it worked. Now I can uncheck the BMTbar and only have 2 bars - excellent.

Was gonna suggest 'restore default' but I'm using Firefox 3 so didn't know if you had that option.
You should be able to move the URL bar anywhere you like when you have the Customise box open (Otherwise it should be locked)
I've had everything on 2 lines since the days of Firefox 0.x so you can definitely do it in 20 -
Excellent, thanks for the help, see EDIT above, :beer:0
