Tape/CD/DAB system

I wonder if anyone could give me some advice? My 87 yr old Mother would like a DAB radio but would also like a cd player and tape recorder incorporated in it. It would be good to have stations on the radio that can easily be preset (her current radio is really difficult to do this) The tape recorder is important as she has several tapes which she enjoys listening to and would not be available on CD.
I thought maybe a mini system would be good and wonder if any one could recommend something suitable or indeed if such a system is available?
Thanks in anticipation

Hi You haven't said what sort of budget you have in mind??
There seems to be a few things for around £100
Such as this Sony for £89.99 it has a nice sound to it, but no preset buttons on the unit I think they're all on the remote

or this for £99.99

Although I generally would prefer Sony over Hitachi regarding reliability.
Your best bet would be to go into your local electrical store currys, comet etc, with a tape or cd and let your mother have a a play with it to see how she likes the sound / and how simple it is to operate etc... perhaps see if the sales assistant will let you use the remote. It difficult choosing online without using or hearing them first.0 -
We're getting this one for my Father-in-law

This is the best price we've found but maybe more than you want to spend?

Thank you Skint Cat and finbow really helpful, budget could be a bit flexible as I could share with one or both of my sisters for Christmas. I do like the look of the Sony and will try to get to a large branch of Currys to investigate further.0

if you do a 'reserve and collect' you can check if the store ur going to visit has it in stock and has them on display, with no commitment to buy, Stops you having a wasted trip.0 -
All the Currys (inc Currys Digital) we visited had the Sony I suggested on sale, but obviously the bigger stores are a better bet than the smaller ones.0

Yeah I've heard this sony, it has a nice sound to it and tape is nicely hidden behind the screen.0 -
Oh that sounds good - we haven't heard it yet, just looking at reviews. It was a bit more than we wanted to spend, but I think my FIL will like it as its neat and got the wood effect too which he would like.0

I was about to post a query for DAB+cassette player myself and found yours and now this from the Never Knowingly Undersold John Lewis:
http://www.johnlewis.com/230523146/Product.aspx?SearchTerm=DAB+cassette+radio
which even gives another DAB radio free.
Make is Sony. I think this is the one for me.
Any good for you Grandmasu?

This one could be even better, as I have seen Curry's are doing a price reduction to £89.99. Have spoken to John Lewis and they will indeed pricematch, with the extra radio offer!
Have double-checked with Curry's that they have in-store stock and informed JL of this and whereabouts.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
