Why do I keep getting this message saying I am not connected to Internet

As per the subject but everytime I am connected and if click "try again" it connects!!!

Only been happening since I fitted a new router a week ago.

Mine does that sometimes, especially for this site.

This site can be very slow compared with others.

My PC has the error message problem usually only after a period of inactivity and can be getting on the Internet or when opening OE.

Mine does it too, I've just been putting up with it so far.
  • Yeah, this forum hangs sometimes. Not surprising given how busy it is.
  • I wonder if it has anything to do with the time-out setting ... or indeed auto refresh.
  • If you are with either Aol or talktalk they are having problems with broadband dropping out, both myself and friends from around 10 miles away from me are having these problems, spent over 5 hours talking to talktalk tech help, very frustrating, they are supposed to be sending out a new router, dont think it is the router but a server error which they wont admit to!!

I'm with TalkTalk and I've got a new router, bought it meself (Netgear) .. I think the line dropping is definately TalkTalk to blame now that I've read your post. :(

I'm with aol, and for a while have noticed if reading/whatever ie not changing web pages. Mailwasher often says "No internet connection available". Which I've revived by opening (or refreshing) Internet Explorer/Browser.

Of late have noticed drop out a couple times on this site if haven't changed page for a while.
Have assumed it be aol saving bandwith if not active?
But haven't bothered as yet to contact them as yet. May be it's time to instal 'Stay Live' or the like again!

I also have a Netgear router in use. But have had for some while.
    I would think it's a server issue.

    Yes.
Think that sounds could be about right!?

Used to get that when I was with NTL.

This started happening to me yesterday after I installed some windows updates (don't know if that has anything to do with it though). Its really annoying. I first noticed it when I was on the Digital Spy site and everytime I clicked on a link I got the not connected page.

Its just happened on this site for the first time. I know the site can be a bit slow sometimes, but have never had this happen before today
