How Much Did You Spend This Christmas?

What can I say, I am new to this, I had done most of my shopping by the end of October and had not at that point faced up to the dire straights of my finances.
I spent on presents around about £1,500.
However by the time the food shopping was being done I had faced the spector of my debt and was economising.
I did not buy any sweets, only 3 bottles of wine, no nibbles and only 2 boxes of mince pies.
I know I did not overbuy because we have none of it left, no leftovers, no xmas pud and only 2 mince pies in the cupboard.
All in all I am not too disappointed in my spending.
I will spend a lot less next Christmas as I won't have cards to fall back on. I will save during the year and use that for the grocery. I will try and explain to my grown up kids that they really can't have such a big pile of gifts under my tree and a stocking. I will also explain that they are welcome to come here for dinner but they must contribute something instead of nothing at all!!!!

As I bought all the presents during the year ( in the sales total prob about £100)apart from a few, In Dec I spent £125 on xmas, that was for food and drink and a few last min prezzies. This yr Im going to save all my club card points and put away £3 a week for food and drink, plus £50 a month, which will cover all the bday and xmas presensts for my 4 children and friends.
VxxDebt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0
