Downloading/viewing digital pics or vids

I followed the intructions to download a video clip from a digi camera, saved it to my hard drive. Does the camera have to be connected to view the video or pics anytime after download?

thanks
Shanni

they ( if you have xp) will normally be in the myvideo folder, unless you chose to save it somewhere else. and as expesso said, no. once saved to the pc it is now stored on there aswell as your camera. dont forget to copy it to cd just incase your pc packs in, you can then watch it on a dvd player.

Thanks both, but I'm win '98. Does that make a difference?

  • There isn't a 'My Video' Folder on 98.

However, you do not need the camera to view the files anymore, as they'll be on the Hard Disk, where you sotred them... I hope you know where you put them :p

Well I saved it to my desktop and a folder but whenever I try to open it I get a message in a grey box sating that 'the network or drive is not available'.

    Any clues?

You have created shortcuts rather than copying the files.
