courier cocked up ...now blaming me

hi, can anyone advise please, i was recieved a package from a courier today and he said to me did you recieve anything by mistake on monday, i said no, as i never did, anyway i was getting in to my car and a man and woman from along the road started shouting abuse at me ( oh by the way i am 9 months pregnant due on saturday !!!) so i went along and asked what the problem was. apparently this courier was supposed to deliver something to them on monday they never recieved it and he says he delivered it to me....by mistake...:mad: and told them i had there stuff .....i eventualy settled it with them stating that i never had their stuff and the only thing i recieved was a new hoover which i now realise was on thurs last week not monday ..so basicaly this courier has cocked up and delivered to someone he shouldnt have and is trying to cover his tracks oh and also it wasnt signed for with my signiture ( and i frequently get deliverys from them ) so apparently now i have to proove i never recieved this stuff...and the catalogue company will involve the police ect....so how can i proove i never recieved this stuff, despite it not even being my signiture :mad::mad::mad::mad: this is the last thing i need

I think it's actually the courier that will have to prove that he delivered it to you and not the other way round. Surely the courier should ask for ID or proof of signature when signing for a package - for their own liability more than anything else?

Its not upto you to prove the courier wrong, its upto him to prove you wrong, the proof is in the signature, clearly it isn't your signature and its obviously not at your home, its not your problem, is between the neighbours and the courier.

Just report him to the employer and if he repeats it say you will investigate legal action as he is causing actual damage to your reputation in the community.

You're getting worked up over nothing.

He didn't deliver it to you, you certainly didn't sign for it, so it's nothing to do with you. If they want to involve the police, then let them, as it's the courrier who's in trouble!

Let the courrier sort it out with the neighbours, and if you get any hassle/abuse, then call the police.

thanks for that everyone, i know im probably getting worked up over nothing but it doesnt take much to wind me up being ready to pop out baby no 4 !!!! i did ask the neighbours which catalogue they ordered from and then called and logged a complaint against the courier....so will wait and see... what happens next.

as many others have rightfully said, it's not up to you to prove it.

shame really, as it would be up to the courier to prove he didn't take delivery of two rolex watches, a ferrari and a small helper-monkey from yourself!

Concentrate on the important things, the other bits will fall into place of their own accord.

You can't prove a negative - and the courier knows this. He has to prove he delivered it you, as others have said.
