Maybe it is to highlight that excessive P&P charges are NOT unique to eBay, and when applied on other selling platforms people are happy to pay, rather than whinge and neg the seller.
Everyone seems really happy to pay it for this watch, but the same sitiuation on ebay would lead to a raft of complaints, not a load of thanks.
Just a thought...!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

An interesting point Steve. You are quite right, if that was a seller on ebay their star ratings would almost certainly mean they were suspended by now even assuming no one complained directly to ebay and had them suspended that way.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. God theres just no pleasing some folk. I thought at £8.99 delivered its a decent looking watch for a cheap christmas prezzie. Sure you could possibly get a cheap watch for a few quid in Lidl's but not everyones got a lidl's near them and i still think £8.99 to your front door is decent enough.
I appreciate that this thread has been moved, but looking at some of the previous threads on this eBay section, you can see why people are bringing the subject up.
I'm not sure if you are familiar with eBay, but it's not uncommon for buyers to complain and leave negative ratings for very small overcharges in postage, and the whole "it's a handling charge - packing, labelling, time to dispatch etc" is regularly dismissed as a petty excuse to bump the price. The actual postage cost of this item would be around £3.00 using recorded delivery, less for high volume sellers using postal accounts.
As my post above though, it does highlight a huge disparity in the attitudes of buyers across various e-commerce outlets. You quite rightly see this as a decent gift for £8.99, but many people simply see it as an unfair postal gouge.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
