getting SP4

I want to get sp4 for an old pc which is not online-how do I do it? Can I download to my pc and then transfer it to a disc and install on the other pc?? :rudolf:

yep i belive that is possible to do, you'll have to go to microsoft.com and find the file outside of your update program

Yes, microsoft.com is where you wanna go. Since its SP4 i guess you are talking about windows 2000. For windows 2000 there is also an additional "roll-up" update which was released instead of SP5. But before you install the roll-up update you must update to SP4 first.

What you need to do is:

Go to Windows update
Use administrator options from the left menu
Search Windows update catalog
Find updates for microsoft windows operating systems
Select windows 2000 SP3 from the list
Press search
Look for the update in critical updates and service packs.

You should now be able to save it.

Warning - it's around 130MB in size.

Burn it on to a CD or transfer it on to a USB stick and run it from the other PC.

Thanks for all the help.When I've downloaded SP4 and copied it to disc,can I remove it from my pc with add/remove progs as I dont need it??
