Yeah, I know what you mean but it would be nice to have some answers.

Did anyone hear Pastor Ernest Howie on Radio Foyle @ 8.30am this morning?

Hang on - surely Pastor Ernest Howie isn't a Presbyterian either? Remind me again what happened to that rule that only Presbyterians were allowed to be members?

EDIT: Just as I thought - not Presbyterian:

(not that I have any axe to grind with Pastor Howie, his charity, or Abundant Life, but yet again it looks like the PMS broke their own rules...)

As I said before, one of their main developer debtors isn't a Presbyterian either - he is Church of Ireland so it seems they frequently disregarded the rules.

I can explain that one; Ernest and Thelma Howie were Presbyterians in a former life. I did not know that they had "moved on" until I heard them interviewed in connection with the charitable donations that they have invested in the PMS.
You only had to be a Presbyterian when you joined the PMS; after that you could theoretically do what you liked.

Dont recall seeing this link posted previously - promising I think ?

Petition now up to no. 25 and still going well with getting close to 5,000. If everyone tells a friend to sign tomorrow things will keep ticking along. Would be nice if it went to Gords with around 10,000.
  • Thanks to BALLYBLACK for posting on my behalf earlier.

As Expat68 had already highlighted, and having spoken to the PMS office (at 6.45 pm ) I was able to confirm that, EVERY VOTE whether you have invested it or loaned it to the PMS will be, and does COUNT.:T

Again it makes sence that (quote from Expat68's earlier post)'' the bigger depositors will carry more weight'' however, the suggestion that those with over £20,000 might be prepared to forfeit £20,000 in order to force the PMS into liquidation and recoupe the remainder of their money is crazy.

The way I see it....in liquidation NO-ONE wins !!!..but this is only my opinion.

On reflection I'm no longer in favour of pushing for a meeting. As loads of you have said before, the only real purpose a meeting would serve would be to let us meet other investors, but it'd probably end in tears when we wouldn't get the answers to the questions that we all have.
Now that the PMS situation is being more readily discussed in (some) churches, it'll probably be easier to set up a creditors committee over the comming weeks.
The only positive constructive thing we can do now is to get your voting forms in the post.

Yeah but in order to borrow you have to be a saver/investor

In order to save/invest you have to be a Presbyterian, and name your congregation on your application form.

So I wonder how they got around that one?

Unless the money was borrowed through spouses or family.........strange?
