Any substance to this?
Paterson is involved at Westminster today being questioned by the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee. I believe that Swire the Under Secretary is a main figure in sorting out PMS.
I know he is well informed on the issue and when Donaldson met Paterson along with three PMS savers lately Swire was present.
Despite what a lot of savers, including Lester think, namely that we have lost our savings I do not agree.
In my opinion there will be a practical resolution but probably not exactly as PCI and some others want it.0 -

Robinson Reports on PMS Ministerial Working Group
A meeting of the Ministerial Working Group on the Presbyterian Mutual Society has taken place in London today (Wednesday). The meeting was attended by First Minister Rt. Hon Peter Robinson MLA, deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness, DETI Minister Arlene Foster MLA, Secretary of State Owen Paterson, NIO Minister of State Hugo Swire and Financial Secretary to the Treasury Mark Hoban. Commenting after the meeting the First Minister said,
“This was a useful meeting where progress was made. The Working Group will meet again in a fortnight. In the meantime, officials will continue to work through technical details to get a resolution for savers.
I am very aware of the plight of those who lost savings in the PMS and I welcome the Government’s commitment to work towards a mid-October deadline.
We are working on an outline of how to resolve the issues that we face and I am determined to make progress and achieve a satisfactory outcome. Indeed, I am hopeful it will be possible to have a report to the Prime Minister agreed at our next meeting.”
