I've just found this website...spells out quite clearly why people felt 'safe' investing in PMS (it including copies from original PMS promotional material)

My guestimate ,100 people in the crowd ?!?!
I spoke to people who had travelled from Londonderry,Limavady,Newtownards,Bangor,Belfast.
PCI Communications Secretary Stephen Lynas came out of Church House and tried to answer questions put to him by the waiting crowd.
The new Moderator - Dr Stafford Carson - spent a few minutes answering questions before he headed in to the meeting.
I believe that when Dr Carson mentioned- during his speech -that his own church had a substancial sum in the PMS,and that he would therefore have a personal interest in the PMS,he got a round of applause from those in the gallery.
For anyone planning to attend tomorrow, we were told that we could not bring any placards, signs, notices inside the building...we could use them OUTSIDE...but not inside the GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING.
For anyone who knows how to ..you can twitter the General Assembly (I don't know if I'm even saying this right !!!)
(see PCI homepage)
excellent, stephen lynas is going to sort it all out0 -

.
Both pieces good coverage. The dismissive nature of the church well noted. Liam Clarke's piece hit the nail on the head. The church must act now and put money up front to show moral leadership on this one.0 -
A piece in today's Belfast Telegraph

I have just sat and watched all 30min of UTV Live Tonight (for the first time ever) as I was waiting for all the PMS stuff.............it was NEVER MENTIONED????????
There was a long slot about Susan Boyle, they even interviewed people on the streets of Belfast about her and she isn't even from Norn Iron but NO mention of the PMS.
Has Church House GAGGED the media????????? :silenced:
No. More a reflection of UTV's crap journalism.0 -

Nice way of sidestepping the issue. They wanted the money and the surplus if it came to an end but don't want the deficit. Not exactly moral and upright.0
