Maybe PCI are working so hard in the background to get a resolution that they have forgotten to tell us - I'm sure they are working hard on Government to get help and if all else fails they are bound to organise financial help from within if the creditors win the day. The PCI won't let the shareholders down I'm sure.

Did I say it was lovely to meet the ladies on this site???!!!!

Let's hope they don't let the shareholders down.

But I wonder why they have said nothing to reassure us if they intend to help us?

PCI WONT HAVE NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF INVESTORS IN THE PMS SO
I'M WONDERING IF NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO WRITE TO THE MINSTER OF YOUR CHURCH TO LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE AFFECTED BY THE CURRENT PMS SITUATION.

HAVING SPOKEN TO A NUMBER OR PEOPLE RECENTLY, I'M AMAZED HOW MANY PEOPLE STILL HAVE TO TELL THEIR MINISTER THAT THEY HAVE MONEY IN THE PMS (MY MUM INCLUDED !!)

IF EVERYONE WROTE TO THEIR MINISTER NOW,IT WOULD MAKE IDENTIFYING THOSE AFFECTED SO MUCH EASIER IF THE PCI WHERE TO GET INVOLVED IN THE FUTURE.

ASSUMING THE PCI ARE 'WORKING SO HARD IN THE BACKGROUND' IT PROBABLY MAKES SENCE THAT THEY KEEP IT QUIET UNTIL ABSOLUTELY EVERY OTHER AVENUE HAS BEEN EXHAUSTED....

Tuesday nights 'meeting' was small, informal and enlightening.I really enjoyed meeting everyone, but the quote of the night that has stuck with me was....
'I haven't told anyone in my church that I have money in the PMS. I'm too embarrassed....I feel like a leper' !!!!

This is DREADFUL, no-one should feel like this...the more people that tell their church/minister that they are affected the better....
    'It's good to talk' !!!

Thanks Joy! What a sensible suggestion!
But could i also suggest that the PCI do what they did regarding the petition and have the message come from each minister/pulpit, and via each local church magazine so that each minister tries to find out how many of their (Please note no sexist his used!:D )congregations are affected. I had never thought it through that the PCI may not know exactly who all are PMS members/creditors.
Mind you they have not gone out of their way to find out until now! Maybe they will now:smiley:!
But if we all tell them, and encourage other PMSers to do the same, then a picture can be built up by Church House. We will become more real to them and not so easy to ignore at an individual level!

What's the basis for the (upswing in) optimism?... or are you both being tongue in cheek?

    Mmmmm.

In theory, all PMS savers are (or were) PCI members.
If PCI wanted to identify that subset of the "family" who are PMS savers they could easily and quickly take steps to do so.
They haven't (insofar as I am aware), so I conclude they feel no need to do so.

By all means let your minister know if you feel it will help, but I'm struggling to see what it will achieve other than put faces to a proportion of the saver base.
'I haven't told anyone in my church that I have money in the PMS. I'm too embarrassed....I feel like a leper' !!!!
Agree. No PMS saver should feel like a leper - flawed thinking.

It is responsible to save (IMO), laudable if you chose PMS for community reasons (providing a source of funds for fellow PCI members, congregational initiatives, etc.), and (assuming you were risk averse) wholly appropriate to have selected a financial institution that assured savers it didn't speculate.

It isn't the fault of savers that it has gone pear-shaped.

At worst savers are guilty of believing (in good faith) the impression fostered by directors/management, and of assuming that they operated within an appropriate regulatory framework.
I suspect the vast majority of savers in all UK financial institutions are guilty of exactly the same charge.
