NI Presbyterian mutual society, Short of funds for withdrawal?

The most sickening part of the whole situation is that the government are still pumping more and more tax payers money into the banks to bail them out. Banks who can't give firm details of how bad their debts are but yet they can't secure a Mutual Society which has a full book of assets which could be used as security/assurance for any loans to help them out...

I cant for the life of me see a more simple way of helping the people on the ground directly as opposed to bailing out banks who are not passing on he money to those who really need it. It beggers belief...

On page 15 of the Presbyterian Herald kindly sent to me by S.A.A.P., it states that Mark Orr Q.C. was appointed Chairman of the PMS in October 2008.
Was that not an "interesting" month for the chair to change? :think:

Not too sure if I remember this right but I think the previous chairman became unwell. I may be wrong.
