Copying from Sky +

I've got all the connections in place to copy programmes from the sky + box to my DVD recorder . I tried to copy a film which lasted 125 mins, however it was still recording 4hrs later, but it had not recorded the film, but had recorded programmes that were being transmitted in real time from the TV. The film on the Sky+ box shows that it has been viewed ( although I havn't watched it). I feel the problem is with settings of the DVD recorder, but really, I'm not sure. Its a Panasonic HDD/DVD recorder. any ideas?

You need to ensure that the input select on the DVD recorder selects the scart connector that links to your Sky + box, on mine its A2.
Presumably there are other settings if you want the recording to be on the HDD or DVD.
Then simply playback the film you want to copy. I'd not use the copy function as it can screw with the aspect ratio on you TV thats if it works at all.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
