I use quite big brush, say 3". This gives you a better view of the mark you're making. You need a steady(ish) hand and some confidence. I think an artists brush would make the job much more difficult.

I also agree with all above,I have this problem also when changing colours in the corners.
If I just can't get it right sometimes I paint one wall and leave to dry completely.
I then load the brush as above post says and paint into the corner the best I can doing around 12 inch at a time. I then immediately before the paint dries get a flat scraper and wrap//cover the end with one of those blue cheap dish clothes (damp}and run this down the angle resting flat to the previously painted surface.

"bit of an !!!! but as worked on occasions"
  • Don't aim for a completely perfect straight line - you won't get one. Chances are walls are not completely straight and/or the finish is slightly uneven, meaning that you get some undulations in the corner.

Don't keep standing back and criticising it. Do the line - leave the room, preferably overnight. Then go and inspect it the following day. If it looks "good" on first inspection, leave it well alone :D

Currently painting three rooms myself

like the pros, i use the biggest brush i can. 5in or 7in.
once you get the brush loaded with paint just right, its easy enough.

getting the brush loaded right, is the real trick. takes practice.
