help for weekend break for carers with special needs son

hi all i have posted a thread over in travel and holidays forum
basically i would love to take my husband away for his 40th b/day in march but i cant afford it unfortunately we have not had a weekend away in 10 years :eek: we have a special needs on who is 12 he is statemented and attends a special needs school i am also an l.s.a and work full time allthough im on sick at moment due to high bp
anyway a couple of people said for me to post on here as there may be halp for carers to have a break
does anyone have any information on this
id be grateful for any help as i would love to treat my husband he works so hard and is fantastic with our son

hi, hope you dont mind me asking but has your son got a social worker?, u can ask for a carers assesment and might qualify for respite. hope this helps0

Please take a look at the Crossroads Caring for Carers website (not sure if I'm allowed to put a link in but just Google the above). They have many schemes throughout Wales and if they are unable to help you, I'm sure they'll be able to signpost you to somewhere that can.

It is worth asking for an assessment from Social Care and Crossroads are worth a look. There are many in many locations0
