A&L Online Saver Account

Hi all
I'm new to the site, and can't believe that I've spent so long not knowing about it! So many money saving tips it isn't true!
My question is about the Alliance and Leicester Online Saver account. I signed up about three weeks ago, and despite about four requests, they still haven't managed to add it to my online banking system. Despite being an A&L customer, they still can't do it, so I haven't been able to take advantage of the 5.35% rate. Is anyone else having problems with it? Their online banking system is pretty awful anyway, and this has made it seem much worse.
Thanks,
Rob

Hi,
I have only one account with A&L - their premier account and I have found their site works well.
You say that A&L cannot add your savings account, but I noticed today that there is an option to add other accounts yourself [which I have never used because I have no other accounts with them to add!]
Are you familair with this function [you just enter a/c numbers by the look of it]? Maybe all it allows you to do is 'request' that an account be included and doesn't perform the action itself, but possibly it may be what you need to try for yourself?

Thanks for your reply. I used that function, and it just sends a request, which it seems they ignore. I think there are a huge number of people signing up, so there is a backlog, but three weeks seems a bit much.
Always seems very slow too.0 -
It doesn't just add a request, it actually gets it queued to add to the account as far as I can tell. Mine was added very very quickly when I used this functionality.0

I still remain to be convinced that this is a good account as it takes at least four days to tranfer money into my account and then another four days for the money to be confirmed as available balance.
Is interest added when the money is in this state of limbo?
I still find that ING is more consumer friendly.Waddle you do eh?0 -
Does anyone happen to know what the current rate of interest is on the Online Saver compared to A+L's Plussaver account. I have one of each and I can never remember which is the higher rate. ::)0
