Hi guys -
First of all sorry for the lack of info here, but this is from a work mate and i thought I would try to get some guidance and direction here first.

Ok.............My workmate gets a letter from elec company. They ask for more money for quarterly bill.
My workmate comlains a bit and says she cnat beleive they are chargng more now, that oil gone down etc etc.

The elec company highlight they can run through a few energy saving measure to help with future bills. As they run through, it comes to light that they have been on an economy 7 schedule for around 15 years. they have never noticed, nor have the elec company said anything..................

Any how they work out over the phone that she has been paying more for her electricity over the last 15 years but its tough luck........ she should of noticed and asked them to sort it.

I am wondering if anyone else has anything like this?
Like I said before sorry for the detail in teh information, any help would be great

There's no requirement for energy suppliers to monitor their customers usage & product to ensure they are on the cheapest tariff.

If there was, it would prevent British Gas keeping many loyal customers on a comparatively expensive Click 1-5 tariff whilst attracting brand new customers with a low price BG Click 6 tariff.

Then there's the option of switching supplier to possibly save money, yet it is estimated that roughly half of all customers have never switched supplier in that last 10 years since the market was opened up, costing them perhaps far more for their energy than needs be.

Premier is right, having said that shop around and find the cheapest 24/7 tariff and get onto it. This shouldn't require a meter change as the supplier can just add the 2 lots of consumption together. You'll will probably find that loads of houses that have had electric heating replaced by gas heating could be in this situation as when your having gas heating put in you dont think of your electrcity tariff other to maybe think the bill will go down.
