I confidently expect a 10% initial tax band to be (re)introduced.

(and a £600 Personal Allowance deduction .... to pay for it):pIf you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
To be fair. The 10% thing just confused me. I am happy with the 20% or whatever it is, then the 40%. I can understand that!0

And the other changes that Brown made as Chancellor before the fuss blew up as well?I confidently expect a 10% initial tax band to be (re)introduced.
(and a £600 Personal Allowance deduction .... to pay for it):p
Changes that compensated some groups but not all people, like:
-9180 allowance for pensioners over 65 (would have to drop to 8000)
-Tax credits 'starting point' raised would have to go down again to 5220.
..The way back [to 10%] isn't that clean and tidy..
Who are the people who weren't helped out by a £600 increase in personal allowances? People not paying tax but (I would hazard) in receipt of some kind of benefits - since benefit entitlement is how the government measures 'none of the above'.
The biggest joke for me is the apparent interchageability between a 'household' and a 'person' (i.e. It's either '1.1 million people' or '1.1 million households' depending on which paragraph of the news story you are reading.)
(Now if the government can't even shed that much ambiguity about its statements after 8 months.......).....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0
