Macromedia Flash Player/Shockwave installing problems?

Have been sent a calendar that involves flash but after downloading the above two software programs, nothing changes. I don't get the image that is suppose to appear showing that they work, although I do receive confirmation that the download and installation has been complete.

Can you please help?

See I have installed Macromedia Flash Player but still don't see any Flash content. What is wrong?.

Try downloading the full player for your computer and installing it that way rather than the automatic installer from the site

There is occasionally problems with the updater on the site and 9/10 times the full installer will fix this
