I have recently upgraded my socket A pc to skt 754. I got an MSI k8mm-v board and 3000+ cpu.I surpassed myself by actually swapping the bits over myself as well as fitting 2x512 sticks of ram.The board and cpu were 2nd hand so I didn't get a drivers disk so I passed it on to a mate who did the driver stuff and reinstalled windows for me.For some reason it didn't boot up with my graphics card in,so I had to remove this to rely on the onboard graphics. These are slow but I can live with it for now.what I can't live with though is that I have no audio even though the board has onboard sound. If I try to play an audio file it gives me an error COOD11BA,if I try to play a movie clip, the visual appears but again no audio. The text with the error message seems to point to a driver problem or update, but doing this terrifies me(besides I don't know what driver I need or where to get it) as in the past when I've tried to do this I ended up with a pc that wont work and has to be sent to a mate to get it working. Can someone help me out here please??

On board sound will require the disk that comes with the motherboard, as this will have the drivers needed for the soundcard. If your graphics are shaky you may need to install the driver for this to.
if you have net access you can download these from your motherboard manatacturer.
if you are not sure what motherboard you have you can download a free program that lists all your pc internal components including the make. post back if you want this as i will have to look for it.

I don't have ,and can't get the disc.the board is an MSI K8MM-V.I have been to their site but am having trouble navigating it let alone finding the drivers I need.I don't want to try installing wrong stuff as I really need the pc to work over xmas as I have loads of music to rip for my kids audio jukeboxes.0

this should be the right board and download for you. check first though
http://msicomputer.co.uk/products.aspx?product_id=703622
download
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=647&kind=1
when done check device manager
start-settings-control panel-system-hardware-device manager and look for any yellow question marks relating to un installed drivers. i am assuming you are using windows xp.
am online for a bit if you need any further halp.
