I have offered a social housing property and as i am on Income support and dla, i have been advised to apply for a CCG to help with the cost of removals, carpets and curtains etc.
But, i cant view the house for a couple of weeks - so the only letter i have from the housing people is that of an 'inital offer'. Could i get the ball rolling with the CCG and apply now - as i know it will take at least a couple of weeks to go through, and if i apply after viewing, i wont get any help in time (supposing of course i get any help at all
) It doesnt really matter what state the house is in - i will be taking it!
I cant apply for a budgeting loan, as i am maxed out on them!

The CCG's are currently taking forever. My son has been waiting a month so far and not heard anything, also it is impossible to get through to speak to anyone as they are not answering the phone. Not expect anything quick.0

i know - past experience tells me they can take a while! That's why i want to apply now, to get the ball rolling, instead of after i have viewed it which will only leave me a few days before i move in.
Am a bit stuck re the carpets though - they ask for room sizes, and obviously i dont know them!0 -
I would apply now and state that you will be able to provide more info if required.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0
