I'm not sure if I am allowed to post a thread relating to my problem buy I feel it will also help others with the same problem.
Basically I used to use my sisters laptop and now she needs it. So I have to buy a laptop or PC for my university halls of residence in london, I don't mind which one it is since I don't usually take my laptop around with me. I urgently need some advice on what to buy to work out the best value for money. Since sales start tomorrow I thought maybe someone could tell me where to go tomorow morning to buy a PC/laptop.
Places I know of are, www.pcworld.co.uk(which has a big sale), www.dell.co.uk(which I can get a small percentage off using my student card), https://www.dabs.co.uk, https://www.ebuyer.co.uk, https://www.amazon.co.uk.
Also I would like a big screen (although not neccessary) such as this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/electronics/B000CCB0OG/hotukdeals-21/026-8565982-9202837
but I am not sure where to get the PC from. Is there any other place I can get a better priced monitor from. Please help and reply before tomorrow if possible. Thank you

i have also considered buying two monitors and linking them together, since some people in my university have this and it seem like a very good idea.0

by PC or laptop I mean Desktop PC, or Laptop PC, sorry for all the posts...0

If you don't NEED a laptop then a PC is probably a better idea as they are easier to upgrade and usually work out cheaper - have a look at https://www.Comet.co.uk https://www.pcworld.co.uk https://www.dixons.co.uk https://www.currys.co.uk (for the last three there are discount codes floating around the forum that can be used) - have a look online at these stores and you can always see of they will give you a cheap upgrade to a 19" TFT if you are able to ask instore.0

for some reason I always hate PC world and think they are expensive, I really don't know why i hate them!I think it's because I feel everytime I go in there they are tricking me into buying something rubbish.0

You may also find that the whole Dixons Sales Group (including Currys and PC World) have appalling customer service.
Mesh (https://www.mesh.co.uk) worked out for me, though some people have problems with them. If you don't mind refurbished products, then Morgan Computers (https://www.morgancomputers.co.uk) could be good - they are based in central London.
In addition to the online retailers you've already mentioned, there's also https://www.misco.co.uk
If you can afford to wait a few days, it may be worth buying a computer shopper magazine of some sort, since these often have comparisons of different machines from different suppliers...0 -
if you do decide to buy online , remember to go through a cashback site such as greasypalm or rpoints etc to get another couple of % off."The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
happy travels !!
