Things looking good I hope. I sent off the application on Sunday 21st and the cheque went through the account today, so should mean it all happened before the end of November deadline. Have not received the account notification in the post yet so waiting to see what that says.

The fact that they've cashed your chq means that you're 'in' (unless your chq bounces !)
  • My cheque (sent 18Nov) was taken out of my account today but back dated to the 22Nov for interest.

    gary
  • Bloomin' eck application sent 27/11, rec'd 28/11 - cheque cashed 3/12

    Crikey, that's quick.

Large (but fortunately authorised) o/d until other maturing money comes in next week (still it's very much worth it).
  • Sent cheque to Saga for 6.80% monthly (6months) on 17th November, money is still sitting in current account earning nothing, have telephoned many times, they still have no record of having received it, staff very polite but told different stories each time, last person said that they would back date the account by 10days to make up loss of interest, but doubt if I will see anything in writing on that ! Last operator also told me they were processing applications dated 18th November yesterday (2nd Dec) yet then said my application may not be processed until mid next week. have a bad feeling after all this they may say they have not received it, should have recorded.

Well it nearly cleared out the bank account, just left a few pennies. :D

was more worried about how long the cash might sit there earning little interest (going by some of the horror stories here) but its been just a week. Would say Saga did a good job

I know I'm replying to myself here, but ..... my wife emailed Saga yesterday, just a stock reply, nothing today. So she got all the info together, phoned Saga 1/2 hour ago who told her the account was opened yesterday and the letter would be sent out today. That makes it exactly 10 working days!!
    If true that is!
    We shall see!
