I only have an Ipod mini, but I'm assuming they work in much the same way. When I connect mine to my computer, it automatically updates to match whatever is in my music library. So, if I want to delete something from the Ipod, I have to make sure it's deleted (or at least, unchecked) in the music library on my computer. Does that make sense? the handbook that came with the nano should give you some information, if you've got the patience to look through it!0

Select the song you want to scrub on your list. Press delete on your keyboard. Follow instructions.0

If the iPod is set to synchronise with iTunes (it does this by default), it really is just a matter of deleting the track in the main iTunes library. The next time the iPod syncs, the song will disappear.
If the iPod is set to manually update, just select the iPod in the iTunes source list on the left (rather than the library) and delete the song from it.0
