HIPS for all properties for sale?

I've just received a message from my Agent :-

"IMPORTANT LATEST HIPS INFORMATION
The government are expected to announce that all properties will have to have a HIP to stay on the market regardless of when they came on."

Has anybody else heard of this as I haven't seen anything else relating to this possible fact.

An announcement is due around the 14th of this month and will probably take effect from the 31st December. Well thats what the e-mails I have received say, I can't vouch for how accurate they are.

The announcements and rumours that I've seen all centre around the ending of the 'first day marketing' exemption which is due to end on Dec31. This is the exemption that allows immediate marketing if the HIP has been ordered.

The unconfirmed (but confidently predicted) change due from Jan1 means that the property can only be marketed when the documents that can be obtained within 48 hours are available and the rest ordered. This will obviously introduce a delay in marketing properties.

Although it may be slipped into the announcement due on, or before the 14th, I haven't seen any direct reference to the 'drop-dead' date for HIPs. This is the long-anticipated date referred to by OP when ALL properties on the market will require HIPs regardless of when they were first marketed.

On the bright side, since it's now over a year since HIPs first came along, all the properties will have been sold by then anyway!

Has anyone 'in-the-know' heard anything more about this? The Estate Agent Times on the 4th, quoted anonymous sources as saying:

"Major announcements on Home Information Packs and personal searches are expected imminently,.......................
A stakeholder meeting with Communities and Local Government was held on November 4, where participants were told that outcomes would be notified within ten days."

I make that 4th plus 10 days=14th, i.e. last Friday, but I've seen nothing yet either via the usual channels or on the (appalling) C&LG website. I suspect it will have nothing about the 'drop-dead date' but will be an announcement about the ending, as planned, of 'first-day marketing' and new changes to Search regulations
    .

The only thing I can find is the announcement that "changes to Search Regulations have been laid before Parliament." which leads to the same conclusion. Either nothing was decided or it was too trivial to mention!

    Anyone know any more?

Not heard anything myself, none of my usual e-mails have said anything other than what you posted above.
