Does new Apple Ipod classic come equipped with all required accessories ?

I am intending to buy my daughter a new Apple Ipod classic for her birthday next month.

Probably this one here or maybe the smaller 80GB one:

Maybe I'm getting blind in my old age but in the advert I can't see anything about standard supplied accessories.

Can someone tell me does it come equipped with all necessary accessories (eg charger, earphones and USB lead to plug into pc for downloading music) as standard or do I need to buy these accessories separately when I buy the ipod ?

They come with a usb lead that transfers the music and also charges the ipod. You'll want to purchase a case as well.

If you want a separate charger you will have to buy one - or perhaps a docking station which charges the ipod at the same time as it plays the music

As anewhope says the supplied usb lead will charge it from your computer.
It also comes with earphones

When you say a 'new' ipod classic, if you mean the latest model, bear in mind that this only comes in one size - 120gb. The 80gb model you mention is the old version.

It's a bit annoying charging your ipod via the PC.. I'd also recommend buying some better headphones (the white apple ones are a bit rubbish).

Take a look around the bargain bins in HMV/supermarkets.. i bought a leather ipod case for £3.99 from Sainsburys.

ringo, that iSound iPod Mains Power Charger / USB Adaptor you described on play.com looks a very useful accessory to get as I was already thinking that having to charge via a pc could be quite inconvenient at times.

But looking at the link there is no price quoted and no Buy button so how do I get it ?

As a possible alternative, I looked on Amazon and saw this

yeah.. the 80gb is the OLD ipod, and doesn't have the "genius" features that the "new 120gb classic - one size fits all version" does have...

Most the time i charge my Ipod using an Ipod dock (this one normally - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kensington-SX2000-iPod-Speaker-Dock/dp/B000BJHH1K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1226503669&sr=1-2) but it was only 20 quid in richer sounds when i bought it.

I'm very MSE with my ipod purchases!

She doesn't have a car or drive so one for charging in a car is not appropriate.

Not really inclined to also spend £50 on the docking station thing especially if I go for the more expensive new 120GB model.

Does the one in Amazon I suggested in my earlier post look as though it could do the job ?

That will certainly do the job but you can get similar for cheaper on ebay if care to shop there.
