Morning all,
Well, having a few issues since Microsoft upgraded my Hotmail account to the Windows Live version - each time I load my Hotmail page my comp freezes while it automatically tries to boot up my Live Messenger programme to the sign-in screen.
Any way I can stop this from happening without having to uninstall Live Messenger from my PC? I do use it occassionally to chat to friends, so would rather keep the programme if possible.

Where there's a will, there's a way to get something cheaper from somewhere else!!

Through the browser, no. In Windows Live Mail go to Tools, Options, General and untick "Automatically Log on to Windows Live Messenger".0

Thanks you guys but I'd already done that, and I'm still getting Messenger popping up when I go to my Hotmail account. Any other ideas?Where there's a will, there's a way to get something cheaper from somewhere else!!

one needs to be even more specific here about your problem: what about this: put browser-based Hotmail out of the equation. If u just start Live Messenger (the client) alone (as I do), does the computer still freeze? Also, any other issues affecting pc performance??BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

@ Rock Bottom - yes, I have clicked "Apply".
@ free4440273 - no, my machine does not freeze if I am just loading the Messenger client - it's only when I load the Hotmail page in my browser that I get this issue of Messenger automatically booting up to the sign-in screen. I have no other problems affecting PC performance.Where there's a will, there's a way to get something cheaper from somewhere else!!
