Is movement the same as subsidence?

Hi all,
We're exchanging on our new property today and we need to get the buildings insurance in place - problem is, on the Homebuyers report we had done, it says that there is evidence of movement, but that "this movement appears longstanding with no evidence of recent or continuing movement apparent."
When I've gone to the comparison websites, one of the questions is regarding subsidence, so i've said Yes. Subsequently, they've all come back as they can't quote for this. So, is movement the same as subsidence and has anyone got any insurance companies that will quote on this?
Many thanks in advance
Lindsey

It is the same as subsidence. See a broker for help - or maybe look for another property (why didn't you look into the consequences of this when it was first reported?)0

You could also ask who the property is currently insured with as I think (but could be wrong) that they have to continue to offer insurance.0

The survey on my 1890's home had exactly the same 'longstanding movement' comment. There is nothing unusual about this in old properties which often experience some sort of settlement. My insurer confirmed that this is not subsidence and my insurance is at standard terms. I've been in the house for 15 years and there has been no further movement.0

Hi Sarah and cogito, thanks for the helpful replies
In the end, I got in touch with the surveyor and he confirmed that it wasn't subsidence and some movement is common with properties of the same age and type as ours
I've now sorted the insurance, and we exchanged today!Roll on Friday when we complete and move in!!
