How can I pay cash for an item but then use a credit card to get it interest free?

Options
Hi all,
This is my first post and think that the site is excellent!!
I'm interested in buying a watch and I'm going to pay cash for it (the seller is reputable) but I'd like to be abe to use the interest free facilty on my Sainsburys credit card (which I found out about through this site) to spread the cost until Sept next year without having to pay interest.
Is there anyway to do this?

Is there anyway I can use a credit card to pay money into my bank account without incurring a charge?

Also, can I pay some/all of a credit card debt with another credit card without incurring a charge.

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

What you can do is take out an Egg card which you can then balance transfer to from other cards and then transfer it to your bank account then savings for the period of interest free. Some cards give you a month to do the balance transfers in for the interest free period and some it is the length of the interest free period.

So it may be worth taking out an egg card just for this that and every year you get five months interest free.
    Nice to save.
  • It is worth checking that your Sainsbury card offers interest free on balance transfers and not just purchases.

Why do you not pay for the watch by credit card - you will get extra protection for free?
