Microdirect Refund Advice

Hello,

A few months ago I bought a FreeView box from Microdirect, as recommended by MoneySavingExpert. It was a great deal - about £40 - but unfortunately I was sent a faulty box. I therefore arranged to return the item, which was no problem, and asked for a refund.

Microdirect agreed to give me a refund in an email on the 5th September, saying the money would appear in my account within 14 working days.

On the 26th September the refund still hadn't appeared so I followed it up. 3 days later they again confirmed that the refund would be put back onto my card.

I won't go into the specifics but this has happened several times now - they keep on assuring me that a refund is coming and it never does.

I was wondering if somebody could tell me what my next step should be? I'm getting rather tired of the constant lies.

Should I contact my credit card and ask for a refund from them? Or is there some kind of consumer protection department I can call?

Many thanks
Iain
