Right click on the drive in Disk Management and click Change Drive Letter and Paths and there should be an option to assign a letter.0

ty i will try this when i get home , as i need to get this data from off the drive.
i have also read on some other sites that the drive may need reformatting before it can be accessed and a drive letter assigned to it, is this true?. many thanks0
