Hyundai Getz High level brake light

In true Money saving style (to save exorbitant garage charges) can any one tell me how to remove the casing of the Getz High level brake light to change the bulb. I can see no obvious way of doing it and that is the only bulb the handbook does not give instuctions for.

Most are sealed and LED these days im afraid. There's a good chance you'll have to get a whole new bank of LEDs or put up with one being out! Try ask a dealer for just the bulb, if he can supply one, ask how to fit it! If not then you'll know it's the whole thing.

    HTH :)

  • Thanks for replies so far. I think it is a bulb, not LED, because you can normally see the individual LED's as dots, but all I see is the reflector, and by the way there is no light at all.
  • Have you checked your fuses?

And even wiring to the unit? Water ingress or rubbing wires is fairly common on these as the wiring is linked through the tailgate and constantly opened/closed so tends to get more wear and tear.

You would hope its more than 1 bulb (and not wired in series)

other wise its a silly desing of such and important safety feature

There are some that are just a capless bulb in the centre and then the rest of the unit just reflects that light, so once the ONE bulb goes out, the whole unit is useless
