My Mum has 100K to invest, is it best to buy property?

Sad sue - but she seems to have enjoyed every day of her life. Good on her.
I trust you are doing your family tree and include all the stories and pics about her.0 -
Sad but yes she lived life to the fullest so maybe a blessing in a way as her legs were starting to give her trouble and she couldn't dance anymore.
I haven't done a family tree (there is another member of the family doing one) but I do regale my children with all the stories. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Okay, I knew I would be flamed for my posting
I am not saying my Mum is old at 60!
All I am saying that she lives in rental property with almost vertical stairs (it is an old property) and she has the chance to secure her future - and enjoy herself with travel etc !
Is anything wrong with that ??0 -

Who's flaming you? You've had some good advice and we've had a bit of a giggle, which is how this board tends to be......except sometimes people really cut up rough; (but that's when I pull the blanket over my head!)
Oh, and it was you who first mentioned 'retirement flat.'0 -

No-one's flaming you, me love! :-)
Personal, I would move out of a rented house if it had almost vertical stairs. (ie very steep) they are a falling hazard for any age group. (I'm under 35 by the way!)
I'd me inclined to advise your Mum to look for a small house. maybe with a downstairs loo. :-)
